Jewels of Hope
Jewels of Hope is a program to assist and empower orphans in Zimbabwe. A trained volunteer works each week with children ages 12-19, who come together to learn jewelry-making skills and the rudiments of small business management, and enhance and expand their life skills. The jewelry is marketed by JourneyPartners, and funds are returned to the children to provide school fees and uniforms, food supplements for them and their families, and income to meet the challenges of daily life. The program allows vulnerable children in Zimbabwe to continue their education while participating in legitimate income generation in a safe and loving environment. Jewels of Hope groups are partnered with congregations and organizations in the United States, allowing people of faith to reach out to orphans with the love of God and help provide education, food, discipleship training, and hope for a safe and secure future.
For information about how your church can partner in the sales of Jewels of Hope, or sponsor a new child in the Jewels of Hope project, contact Bonnie Dixon, Executive Director of JourneyPartners, or Kristen Collins, JourneyPartners' Associate Intern.
